I had the opportunity to work at EPFL Mobots Robotics Lab around the Thymio Robot from 2014 to 2016 and from 2018 to 2020. Thymio is a swiss educational robot that allows to discover the universe of robotics and programming. From simple paper accessories to new digital solutions, I played a part in developing resources for this exceptional educational robot.

Thymio can be programmed via a visual programming interface consisting of programming blocks. VPL 3 is not only a redesign of the existing interface but it rethinks it as a new digital tool for teachers to leverage the Thymio robot in the classroom in an easy and effective way.
MY ROLE
--> Develop specific functionalities for teachers to customize the interface and deploy programs on the robot, in collaboration with the Lab head and the software engineer.
--> Translating new functionalities into an intuitive and clear visual programming interface for Thymio, with Web as the main platform.
--> Redesign all the existing function blocks and design new ones.
--> User testing with school teachers.
--> Implement the UI in collaboration with the software engineer.
